A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

About Us & The Faces of Our Organization

Here at AMWA, our mission is to advance women in medicine, advocate for equity, and ensure excellence in health care. Our goal is to achieve a  healthier world where women physicians achieve equity in the medical profession and realize their full potential. We wanted to implement these values at our UT Dallas chapter. Throughout the semester, we will provide various volunteer opportunities, organize fundraisers and health clinics for women in underserved areas, host guest speakers, and have social and professional conferences online and across the country with other AMWA chapters at the pre-med, medical school, and professional level (Pre-Medical Sessions including resume/CV reviews, mock interviews, hands-on workshops, and more). We at AMWA UTD welcome individuals from various different pre-health backgrounds.

Alina Ahmed

Introducing our 2023-2024 President of AMWA UTD…

Hiii! My name is Alina Ahmed and I am so incredibly honored and elated to be your President for this school year! Being a part of AMWA has given me a space to connect with other women who are interested in healthcare, as well as learn from women who are already working in the healthcare field, and for that I am forever grateful. I hope us as an officer team will also open these doors of friendship, mentorship, and connection for you all as well. Aside from AMWA, I love to find new TV shows to watch, try new foods, and go thrifting! I also love coffee and boba a little too much hehe. Currently, I am a patient care technician, a front desk assistant, and a lead chair for the Dallas chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. I am here for all of you, feel free to message me anytime for anything. Super thrilled for AMWA this year

You are not alone in this! Outside of AMWA, I love anything nature-oriented (plants, hiking, swimming, picnics, road trips, etc.), trying new food, and doing life with my loved ones! I enjoy my peace so you’ll probably catch me at home, studying or relaxing. Come say hi! I’d love to be friends!! <3
